What happens during a typical NAET treatment?

First you are asked to remove your shoes and all items from your pockets.  You would then lie down on the treatment table on your back.  The doctor then begins the muscle testing procedure and determines which items you are allergic or sensitive to.  After recording all of the allergens, the doctor will begin the first treatment.  You will be given a homeopathic remedy which was prepared to address your body’s precise reaction to the allergen.  After ingesting a specifically determined dosage of the remedy, you will hold the bottle with the remaining remedy in your hand.  The doctor uses a gentle thumping instrument called an Activator to stimulate key points along your spine which will initiate your body’s ability to eliminate its adverse reaction to the allergen.  Then acupressure will be applied to points at your hands and feet using a vibratory instrument.  During some appointments you will lie still for twenty minutes after the treatment.  At the end of that time, the doctor checks your muscle response to the allergen one more time to ensure that the allergic reaction is neutralized. Next you are asked to wash your hands again to remove any residual electromagnetic reaction from being exposed to the allergen.  You will be given final instructions on the exact dosage of the homeopathic preparation before you leave.  You then need to continue to take the homeopathic for the next 25 hours at the regular intervals prescribed and avoid the allergic substance as much as possible.  You will be instructed to then return to the office for a recheck within 7 days following each initial treatment. 

Once an allergen has been cleared, can it come back?

If all of the treatment protocols have been strictly followed, the effects of the treatment should be permanent.

Are there any side effects?

As your immune system becomes stronger, it naturally begins a process of detoxification.  So, during the treatments, it is not uncommon to feel the effects of this purification process.  Symptoms may include: headache, sluggishness or irritability. But once the allergens have been completely eliminated, if all instructions are followed properly, the only side effect will be improved health.
